Ok, you know how sometimes you just have ideas in your head and you simply must get then out? Well, for some crazy reason, no one is asking me to plan their wedding!

So, I had to take matters into my own hands (of course) and plan a little wedding shoot with my favorite details. And we did have a lot of fun putting together the details!

The Bride's shoulder wrap was provided by the Etsy shop: RomancingJuliet (as was the Moss and twine ring pillow and wedding cage card box)

the Cake was a prop cake and was created by CaramiaCakes on Etsy and decorated by our amazingly talented florist, Bethany from Splendid Sentiments and Designs, who also created the bouquets and bouts.

The beautiful invitations and programs were created by Sanskrips inc, the fantastically fun little bird pins on the bm's dresses and the gm's suspenders were created by Maisey Handmade, and the felt flower clips in the ladies hair were created by Design du Jour. (all located on Etsy)

Blake and I made the chalk board signs with scrap wood at home depot, chalk board paint, sandpaper and chalk. We also made the ladies' bird rings from supplies purchased at Michael's.

The beautiful hair was done by Marinda Rykowski (who was also one of our bridesmaids) and the flawless makeup was by Kacee Geoffery

Romantic Portraits: OC Photographer

Continuing our rundown of the awesome SoCal PhotogShootOut workshop: In addition to the wedding details, we also took some time to shoot some "romantic portraits", (the portraits of the bride and groom after the wedding, or bridals with the bride AND groom)

We throughly enjoyed shooting with other photographers and working with the beautiful husband and wife: Sean and Ashley. In fact, we adored working with them so much, we used images from their set for our listing on Wedding Chicks (listed in Laguna Beach) and on Ruffled (if your IP is in CA or AZ).

Workshops and Paper details: Orange County Wedding Photographer

I love living in Southern California.

I adore the fact that there are so many talented photographers willing to share their expertise and just shoot the breeze.

If you're a photographer and you live in Southern California, you absolutely MUST join the SoCal Photog ShootOut group! (especially if you're new! I wish we knew about this group our first year.) Earlier this month, they put on a fantastic workshop/shootout, basically covering an entire wedding. (a Romeo + Juliet themed wedding, none the less.)

It was amazingly interesting to see and watch how other photographers go about the wedding day. How they approach the various aspects of the wedding and engagement sessions.

We definitely learned lots and are already implementing little tricks and methods that so nicely compliment our own style and "groove".

There is just too much to share, so we decided to break up our poses to cover each category covered in the workshop.

Katie + Rhett : Orange County Engagement photographer

Katie and Rhett's engagement's were scheduled on one of the rare days it pours down rain here in "Sunny" southern California. it was off and on all morning, so we were all relatively nervous, especially since our location was prone to muddiness.

However, with the success of the Allred's rainy day shoot, we decided to soldier on.

However, our bravery was unnecessary, because Katie's fervent prayers for dry land were answered (she didn't fancy the "wet" look) and the raining seased ON OUR WAY to our location.
